I Survived Working in the City, Surprisingly!

I used to vow not to work in the city. Generally there are haphazard steams of people and cars everywhere. Cars are stuck bumper to bumper and everyone breaks the rules of the road and bumping a red light has become commonplace. But when the opportunity comes along, I just have to take it.

Every morning I really wished that I could have stayed in bed but yet I trugged into the office. I would start off my day with some health drink and tag along when my colleagues went for breakfast.

My spacious desk is still empty with only my lappie in sight. I shall bring my own plant in a pot, photo frame, magnet, and cushion to make my working space lively.

Whenever I need break, I would stand by the window where I have a magnificent view over the city.

Lunch is awesome! Working in the city means that you are spoiled for choices, there’s thiswell maintained and air conditioned food court opposite my office, and pavilion is just a few stones away. Lunch is always followed by a cuppa at StarBucks or in the office

Guess the worst part of working in the city would be the traffic. Whenever one driver decides enough is enough, and pulls out into the incoming traffic to overtake, the squeezing sound of emergency break give me goose bumps. Whenever the line is too long that one particular car is blocking the road, the honking gone bad.

Everyday I see these unsightly manners behind the steering wheels.

Congestion happens almost everyday that I have figured out some way to keep us entertain. I’m so glad that HE fetches me everyday without fail while I’m picking up on my driving skill. Here’s what I do when I get really bored or impatient in the car:

Camwhore-ing when the traffic is not moving. Remember to off the flash because it would appear as head light flashing to other cars.

Tune into radio. It keeps us entertain.

Sometimes I will picasa-ed my pictures (not applicable to the driver)

You can even watch dramas (not applicable to the driver too)

Now I can broadly acclaim that I survived working in KL and I’m actually in LOVE with the city.

I Heart Black - Part I

Black is the colour, always always appropriate. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a GOTH , but I love how Black can make me look classic and elegant. Black is slimming, hides imperfection, appear clean all the time and very versatile.

Black eye liner is truly heaven sent, it does wonder to frame, define and draw attention to eyes. My love would be Kate Gel Liner comes in a glass pot and brush. The brush brittle is really firm that make it really easy to apply, even for beginner compare to pencil liner and liquid liner. I bought black with glitter (RM 49.90) instead of black and brown. The glitters are tiny and does not irritate my eyes at all.

Dunk the brush into the pot, draw a line on the back of your hands to avoid looking too harsh when you apply. Draw a thin line, try to draw as close to the base of your eyelids as possible. Start from the inside corner of your eye and work your way out. My make up regime is just to line my eyes and conceal some imperfection. Gel liner is perfect for thin lining, long lasting and does not smudge easily.

Gel liner rocks! Whoever invented it, thank you so much!

50 first dates

Do you still remember the movie, 50 First Date? It is all about Henry Roth (Adam Sandler), a marine veterinarian living in Hawaii, who meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore) who suffers from antegrade amnesia and they develop a relationship. Her condition leaves her with no memory of anything between the day of the accident and the present as she cannot convert short-term memories into long-term memories as she sleeps. Henry therefore must find new and imaginative ways of winning Lucy over every day.

In a long running relationship, both bf or gf should find new ways to spark up their love life too. No, I'm not trying to be the next love guru where people will send in letters like "Dear Zee, I had a crush on A but B loves me" sort of thing.

You can't like lying on the couch, munching on chips and watching tv in your big and comfy pajamas with your another half EVERYDAY.

A dinner out or dinner and a movie are such popular and wonderful date ideas. Every date should be treated as the first date where it is full of anticipation and you get butterflies in the stomach when the time comes.

The occasional date actually give us some quality time to have good discussion and to establish commonalities. Please bear in mind not to schedule your date (every Friday is the dating day? bah), make it impromptu!

I need an outlet where I can express myself in regards to my personal life instead of food. Foodies looking forward for yummy-licious food pictures will be disgusted at the sight of my ramblings and complains right?

Very often that we looked at beautiful things, talked each other into buying some things, and ate a lot of food. It was pretty much the perfect day! So its not all about food after all, this blog will serves as a humble little place that store all things good and beautiful.
